BACK AT IT AGAIN...

The Sam Houston Bearkat basketball team has been on the road for a while. They've had some ups and they've had more downs. They return to their home Johnson Coliseum tonight to face off against Texas College. I will be covering the game for the first time in a few weeks. The last time I watched them play, they came from behind against Western Michigan and nearly won the game. The Bearkats defeated Wright State in the next exhibition. But they haven't done well on the road, falling to UTEP this past Saturday and North Texas last Wednesday. Transfer guard Cory Allmond has stepped up as a true leader for this team and is expected to maintain his consistency. Tonight should be a victory for the Bearkats. It's surely nothing more, but we can't settle for anything less.

OJ DID IT!

OJ Simpson will be headed to prison pretty soon, and to the delight of many people. I was young when OJ was acquitted in 1994 of the controversial death of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. But I can vividly remember the vast majority of the population saying "OJ did it." Though the trial was intense and the evidence against Simpson was overwhelming, it was not enough to convict the former football superstar. The infamous glove of the murderer was just a little too small on OJ. Nearly 15 years later, at age 61 OJ Simpson will nigate his illustrious escape of prison. Now he may die there. He was sentenced to at least 9 years in prison after assembling a gang of thugs to rob a Las Vegas Sports Memorbilia Shop. As fast and as graceful as he was on the field, he could never outrun his amazing ability to make the wrong decision. This just goes to show us all that for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. So what goes around does come around, exactly in that fashion.
